Joël Robuchon – MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV. L’Atelier and Restaurant Joël Robuchon

This past August Avon sent a bunch of people from my team to Las Vegas, NV to attend and assist at Avon Repfest 2016. Unfortunately, we were not given a per diem for food, but I was fortunate enough to befriend a coworker I hadn’t know previously, Katherine Shu.

No one at the conference from work was on the same page foodie-wise as me, except Katherine. Thankfully great foodie minds think alike! She was down to spend good money on good food and try lots of delicious dishes. She had also done her research prior to the trip and knew of an awesome chef that I can’t believe I hadn’t known about previously – Joël Robuchon. Where have you been all of my life, Joël Robuchon?!

Joël Robuchon has two restaurants in the MGM Grand Hotel, where we were staying, and lucky for me Katherine was down to go to both of them! We went to L’Atelier first, which is his one Michelin star, French fusion Tapas style restaurant, and also my personal favorite of the two we went to. His second restaurant, named Joël Robuchon, has three Michelin stars and is all French fare.

I will let the pictures of the food do most of the talking. Please check out the captions for descriptions and comments on them. Keep in mind this is a catch up post, being that it is now the end of November and everything isn’t as fresh in my mind as it would’ve been if I had written it at the time. Forgive me!

I will start with L’Atelier. My visit here was with Katherine. We ordered À la carte.

And now for Joël Robuchon. I dined here with Katherine and Rosalynn Mok. We did the $198 Menu À which gives you amuse-bouche, two apps, one main, one choice of dessert and seductive sweets aka the dessert cart.

Joël Robuchon – by Joël Robuchon, Las Vegas – Le Maïs – Delicate corn cream with foie gras and Iberico de bellota ham. My app was amazing. This is served with a fried polenta stick and you are encouraged to eat this with your hands, so they give you a small dish of rose water. It reminded me of India where they would give you those with each meal.

The fish was cooked so perfectly and was incredibly flavorful. I was impressed by this dish. I was kind of full from eating too much bread though, haha. AND seen on the edge of the plate is those famous complimentary mashed potatoes again!

I definitely recommend these two restaurants. They are each quite different experiences in their own, but both have some very tasty food. You can find information about these spots on the MGM Grand Hotel Website – https://www.mgmgrand.com/en/restaurants.html.  I wish they had their full menus and options within them listed online, but unfortunately they only have partial ones up for each. I hope my post helps you out a little though 🙂 Some quick snaps I got of the menus while I was there can be found below for your viewing pleasure.
