Joes Crab Shack – Clifton, NJ – Bairdi is in season

Going to Joes Crab Shack is one of my favorite things to do.  I am addicted.

This season they are featuring a rare catch, Bairdi. The waiter told us he remembers how to pronounce it as, a bear goes into a forrest and dies, bear-die, Bairdi. Kind of morbid, I know, but it did help with the pronunciation.

Enough about that.  This crab is delicious!  So tender, juicy, sweet, flavorful and meaty! It is easy to crack and you get nice, satisfying pieces easily.  It makes the work well worth it.

Dungeness is normally my go to, but while this catch is around, Bairdi all the way!
